PenTBox is a Multi OS security software suite that can test the vulnerabilities inside a system. The team at PenTBox decided to use this program to test the iPhone OS on a 3G 32GB iPod Touch. The attack was carried out on iPod Touch (not jailbroken) via WiFi using TCP Flood utility contained within the suite. A video demostration of PenTBox doing a TCP Flood DoS Attack Against iPod Touch (3rd gen, 32GB) after the jump.

As you can see from the video, all the functions on the iPod Touch were blocked after a DOS attack on a wireless network. It is possible to generate similar attack on all the iPod Touch or iPhone models.
Something similar could happen at any time and in any place, such as at airports, bars or other places with wireless access available. Our advice is therefore to be very careful what WiFi networks you connect with your device. For more information visit
